12 AEW Dream Matches For Adam Cole

3. Hangman Page

Adam Cole and Adam Page. Both men joined Bullet Club on the same night in 2016 and have taken interesting paths since.

While Cole was the established star who went on to success in NXT, Page stayed with Bullet Club and has become AEW’s most sympathetic babyface. He may have taken the longer route, but Page has certainly solidified his position.

There is so much history to draw from in a match between Page and Cole. Cole is the friend who came back to The Elite with Page still exiled, after all.

The possibilities for storytelling are endless and they are even more exciting than a potential match. I would still quite like to see the match, though.

2. CM Punk

It sure is fun to be able to list CM Punk on lists like this and have it not be a pipedream, isn’t it? With CM Punk having officially made his in-ring return, now we can start looking to the future.

Having debuted just a few weeks apart, CM Punk and Adam Cole are coming into AEW at the same time. Both have a lot of opponents ahead of them but anyone who isn’t excited about the potential match they could have needs to check their pulse.

Two of the biggest stars in Ring of Honor history, they have followed similar career paths in wrestling. Punk’s may have been considerably bumpier, but they have both arrived at the same place at the same time.

Punk can still go, as seen at All Out, and now we just have to wait and see how long it takes for the dream matches to start happening on a regular basis.

1. Kenny Omega

The match that never got to happen the first time. It was clear during Cole’s run in Bullet Club that a match between him and Kenny Omega was the goal. However, it never happened with Cole signing with WWE in 2017.

Now, we have the chance to finally see it. With Cole joining The Elite it doesn’t appear that the match will happen in the near future. However, that makes the build all the more exciting.

AEW has shown that they are able to put on long-term stories better than anyone right now. The slow-burn story culminating with the long-awaited match between Cole and Omega is fantasy booking rocket fuel.

Omega has been on an incredible run as AEW World Champion, carrying the company as its best performer. Now, he has yet another potential classic rival waiting in the wings.

For now, all we can do is dream about it.
