3) William Regal Does Appear On WWE Television
What a wild 12 months 2022 was for the Gentleman Villain.
He started the year out by being fired by WWE during the restructuring of NXT which saw much of Triple H’s team dismantled.
He then made his AEW debut at Revolution, confronting Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley and forming his own Combat Club.
Now, he ends the year out of AEW and on his way back to WWE as an EVP.
One clause in Regal’s AEW departure was that he would only be returning to the company in a backstage role, and not be able to appear on WWE television.
I don’t know if this is a legal thing or just a verbal agreement, or any other details, but I say it’s hard to believe that Regal will just sit backstage all year.
He’s got War Games to announce now, after all.
