5 Reasons Why WWE 205 Live Is Must-See

5 Reasons Why WWE 205 Live Is Must-See

With reports that WWE 205 Live might be cancelled in the near future, it seems like a good time to list all the arguments to why the show should stay on air.

Here are five reasons why the cruiserweight show – that has had a rough 2.5 years on air – recently really found its footing and is delivering week after week.

5. Exceptionally Great Wrestling

Every week the show is set up with a compelling main event. Whether it be an epic 10-man tag team match, a brutal unsanctioned match, a title match or the culmination of a long-time feud.

Every week Adam Pearce, who is reportedly the man behind the curtain as of late, has something up his sleeve to stand out from all the other weekly WWE show material.

A wonderful thing is how the wrestlers manage to win over the worn out crowd after SmackDown each week, causing for big reactions towards the end of the matches.

4. Compelling Storylines

The way 205 Live approaches storylines is certainly unique in WWE. Consistency and long-term planning is a specialty of the show.

Besides the fantastic story behind Drew Gulak’s eventual championship victory, you can also look over to his former partner The Brian Kendrick.

One of Kendrick’s first feuds on 205 Live, when he was a heel, was Akira Tozawa. The two were arch-rivals, that clashed numerous times.

Later, after a feud with Jack Gallagher, he was able to pull the Gentlemen to the dark side in an attempt to reign over the Cruiserweight Division.

When Drew Gulak joined the duo and took over leadership, he singled out Kendrick as the weak-link of the team. When The Brian Kendrick’s own evil tactics came to haunt him, it was his rival Akira Tozawa, who came to his aid.

Tozawa and Kendrick realised, that because of their long rivarly over a year ago, they knew each other so well, they would function perfect against the forces of evil. The duo is still teaming today.

3. A Number Of WWE’s Best Kept Secrets

Ali, Cedric Alexander, Buddy Murphy. They all came from 205 Live. All of them have been received very well by officials and fans across the globe.

Where these gems came from, there are more. Talents like Jack Gallagher, Ariya Daivari, Drew Gulak, Humberto Carrillo and others are ready to come to Raw or SmackDown and send shockwaves through the WWE fans.

2. The Passion Translates To The Audience

205 Live is a family. Everyone on the roster is aware that the show is not getting the attention it deserves. So the talent has put it upon themselves to work even harder and harder every week.

Everyone, whether they be a wrestler, backstage person or announcer, is driven to make 205 Live the top show on WWE each week. It would be such a shame if all that hard passionate work ends up to be for nothing.

1. Drew Gulak

Every strong group needs a leader and that leader is Drew Gulak. He is one of the very best in the entire WWE. On 205 Live, no-one can touch him.

He went from PowerPoint presentations to the most interesting champion in the entire promotion.

The list of possible deeply emotional dream feuds just within 205 Live is still very long, despite him being champion since June.

Gulak is a true master of his game and the end of the purple brand would demolish his body of work.
