6 Potential Big Surprises For AEW Revolution 2024 AEW

After over two long months we once again have an AEW pay-per-view offering to eat up as Revolution 2024 is almost here.

The event has been built around the retirement of The Icon Sting, with an emotional night guaranteed for one of the all-time greats. But what of the rest of the card?

Sitting at a respectable (and not overly bloated) nine matches, it’s seeming unlikely that any more matches will be added, but with AEW and Tony Khan you never truly know.

As ever, some matches seem like foregone conclusions but even in those instances there is the possibility for a surprise or two to take place.

So, based on the current card following Dynamite we’re going to take a look at what big shocks we could see at the event, beginning with The Stinger himself…

6. Sting & Darby Allin Retain

Sting and Darby Allin have been as formidable a unit as any in AEW history, and it’s been nice seeing their dominance pay off in the form of the AEW Tag Team Championships.

Sting may have reportedly not been keen on the idea of winning the straps, but it’s a nice extra way to pay homage to Sting’s time in AEW by giving him one final piece of title gold.

However, with Sting hanging up his boots at Revolution many are assuming that he and Allin will finally take an L for the first time, while also obviously dropping their AEW Tag Titles to The Young Bucks.

As much as that makes sense, and seems very much like the correct etiquette for someone on their way out, there is always the possibility that AEW keeps Sting’s undefeated streak alive right until the very end.

Allin & Sting would obviously relinquish the titles afterwards so it wouldn’t do a ton of harm. Well, maybe to the Bucks but hey, it would be a nice moment to see the Hall of Famer go out on a high.
