6 WWE Creative Paths For Cody Rhodes To Finish His Story At WrestleMania 40

6 WWE Creative Paths For Cody Rhodes To Finish His Story At WrestleMania 40 WWE

After 72 hours of trending online, the #WeWantCody movement took over Monday Night Raw with fans making their voices known regarding the potential WrestleMania 40 main event between Roman Reigns and The Rock.

The debate rages on as to whether this was all an elaborate plan by WWE and The Rock or simply a tone-deaf decision that the company seems to be attempting to frantically back-peddle on.

Whatever the case WWE have dug themselves into a bit of hole that they will need to claw themselves out of, or risk further negative attention for the remainder of the Road to WrestleMania.

But how exactly can they do such a thing? How can WWE get Cody Rhodes back on the path to finishing his story?

That’s what we’re here to figure out today – with six different creative paths for WWE to right their wrongs and give The American Nightmare the storybook ending he deserves.

6. Justifying The Wrong Choice

Starting things off with the least ideal scenario of all – but one that still feels like a very, very real possibility WWE could try and get Cody Rhodes to convince us all that the World Heavyweight Title is actually worth pursuing.

Now, I’m really not sure any amount of emotional promos from Cody or Seth can in fact achieve this, but you never know – Cody does have a way with words.

One of the many problems WWE have presented themselves with as a result of this entire mess, is doing further harm to the reputation of the World Heavyweight Championship.

No matter how much Rollins screams from the mountain tops, we all know it’s the consolation prize and if Cody rejects Seth’s pleads to face him at WrestleMania – instead going for Reigns after all that is only going to make things worse.

So, if WWE do want to plough forward and have Cody face Seth at WrestleMania instead, it goes without saying they are going to need to make the title feel important. Perhaps book them in the ‘Mania Night Two main event? It’s something at least.
