On last week’s WWE SmackDown, the grudge match between R-Truth and Damian Priest took place to blow off their rivalry following Priest’s turn on Truth in Mexico City.
Unfortunately, the match did not end up going to it’s natural conclusion, as R-Truth suffered an injury just minutes into the match, leading to referees calling off the match just as it got started.
Fraxiom would make the save for Truth as Priest was ready to continue the attack after the match, with Priest leaving before more damage could be done.
R-Truth says he’s OK following SmackDown injury scare
It was reported that Truth was doing okay following his injury scare on SmackDown, and now Truth himself has provided an update.
Taking to social media, Truth shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed where he confirmed that he was OK.
Truth also noted that Priest ‘tried to kill him’, and that he didn’t know things were ‘that serious’ between them.
He said:
I AM OK, Thank you ALL for your support, concerns and get well wishes , Wow, It truly feels amazing to feel and be loved I’m grateful for you all.
…On 10/16/2026 I almost passed away… Damien Priest tried to kill me,, I didn’t think he was ThAt serious… But ok, l’ll be back
Another chance for ‘Ron Killings’ in WWE?
While the injury to Truth was obviously an unfortunate incident, WWE can now use the injury to add more heat to Truth and Priest’s rivalry.
Truth noted in his post that he ‘didn’t think he was that serious’, which could lead to Truth himself taking the rivalry more serious, and bringing back the side of Ron Killings fans were hoping to see last year.
After Truth returned to WWE at Money In The Bank 2025, he shaved his head on Monday Night Raw, promising to bring a more serious side of himself as ‘Ron Killings’, with Truth dropping the comedic side of his character at the time.
However, the change would not last very long, as Truth was back to being his goofy self just months later, with no signs of him becoming Killings once more.
Now, with Truth vowing revenge on Priest, this could be the perfect moment to once again attempt to give Truth his Ron Killings run fans had wanted last year.
