Ranking Every Match Set For Tonight’s AEW Fyter Fest & NXT Great American Bash

2. Adam Page & Kenny Omega (c) vs. Best Friends – AEW World Tag Team Championship

This is being promoted as the main event for Fyter Fest and rightly so, with two fan favourite tandems vying for the Tag Team Championship.

Best Friends have been on a roll lately, and their momentum more than justifies a title match, and Omega and Page, as we know, are both very over and very good.

From an in-ring work standpoint, the obvious weak link in this match is Chuck Taylor, and even with Omega there’s a chance the actual structure of the match might drift, but as long as it stays on course this could be a great one.

Another thing that sets this apart is that there’s chance we could see a title change. The champions are probably favourites but it’s certainly not as predictable as the other title bouts.

1. Io Shirai vs. Sasha Banks

And that brings us to overall the match we’re looking forward to most tonight, and the honour goes to Io Shirai vs Sasha Banks on NXT.

There have been some weirdos complaining because Sasha Banks isn’t on NXT and this supposedly breaks the whole brand split. If, out of everything in the world, you’re still complaining about WWE’s brand split, you probably need to get a life.

Shirai and Banks are two of the best wrestlers in the world, and tonight they should get a chance to prove it by being in the ring with someone of a similar calibre.

It’s got the story of Banks and Bayley being the former leaders of NXT’s women’s division, a title that is now held by Shirai, and they nearly got into a brawl two weeks ago with the heels having escaped.

This has all the makings of one of the best TV matches for a very long time, and if it lives up, we’re in for a treat.
