Women’s Battle Royal
Along with the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal has been placed exactly where it deserves to be: the Pre-Show.
Unfortunately for the people involved in both matches, the fans are fully aware that winning them has absolutely no impact on your career.
Yes, this is the first WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal so it’s impossible to say how the winner will be treated, but just looking at the men’s equivalent match, you have to assume that it’s not going to be the high point of anyone’s career.
Of all the people who have so far entered, I can really only see a couple of winners. No NXT stars have been announced, however, and many are speculating that the winner could come from NXT, which I guess would be a perfectly acceptable way of calling someone up.
From the people who have been announced, I would say the person with the best chance of winning is Becky Lynch.
“But WWE have booked her terribly and never give her pushes anymore!” I hear you cry.
Yes, that’s perfectly true, but there is just no one else I can currently see winning.
You’ve got Bayley and Sasha feuding, so they’ll most likely eliminate each other. You’ve also got the Riott Squad and Absolution, the two least scary stables in the entire wrestling world, so it would be hard to see them winning.
The only other confirmed entrant that I can see winning is Natalya, who, given her veteran status, would make sense as the first winner.
I am in the NXT camp on this one and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they used the match to elevate someone. But as I don’t know who from NXT will be in the match, I have to go with Becky Lynch.
Prediction: Becky Lynch
