WWE Matches Of The Week #18

NXT
Undisputed Era vs. Ricochet & Pete Dunne

Just look at this match. Pete Dunne, Ricochet, Adam Cole & Roderick Strong. In no world was this ever not going to deliver. On top of that, you have so many narratives running parallel to each other. First, there is the match itself with Dunne and Big Trev vs. UE. Then there is the Champion vs. Champion set up of the ‘Bruiserweight’ vs. Ricochet. There is also the dispute over the NXT North American Championship between Ricochet and Cole. If that wasn’t enough you have Dunne’s history with Roderick Strong. Kyle O’Reilly is stalking the ring on the outside. And if even that wasn’t enough, there is the ever-looming threat of the War Raiders who are gunning for the NXT Tag Team Championships… All that is present before the bell even rings.

Then it does and greatness ensues. Ricochet tore UE apart because he is incredible. UE got the upper hand and kept him away from his corner for a large part of the bout. Dunne managed to get some offense in but some miscommunication occurred and Ricochet took out his partner, setting him up to take the Last Shot from Cole. 1. 2. 3.

Every storyline was worked up to throughout masterfully. I can’t wait to see the matches that could be made coming out of this bout. War Raiders will potentially give UE their toughest challenge yet. Dunne and Ricochet will give us a technical masterpiece. That is after Cole envokes his rematch clause of course. We have some good weeks of NXT ahead of us and the names Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Aleister Black haven’t even been mentioned.
