Adam Copeland Reveals Plans For Final Career Match In AEW AEW

The Rated R Superstar Adam Copeland has revealed some of his tentative plans for his final match in his illustrious career.

In a recent interview with Sam Roberts on Notsam Wrestling, Copeland opened up on his move to AEW and how long he plans to continue wrestling; revealing that he has a “two year window” left inside an AEW ring.

Now, in further comments from the same interview the WWE Hall of Famer further elaborated on the end of his career and what ideas he has for his final match.

Copeland said:

“I walked into this (move to AEW) thinking this is where I’m ending my career.

“I’m ending it with some of my best friends in the industry, my very best friend in life (Christian Cage), FTR guys, I look around and see Jericho … it’s like, it’s really nice. And, again, really exciting. In my mind, I already have ideas for the end.

“I don’t think it needs to be triumphant. I already had that. I don’t know if it’s Christian (his final opponent) anymore.”

“In a perfect world, again, to me, the place is important. I would love to do it in Maple Leaf Gardens. That I would love to do.

“Even if it means I’ve got to start an indie for a day, and I’ve got to book Maple Leaf Gardens, I’ve got to book it, I’ve got to get a production team, and the talent.

“To be able to do it in the place that I first saw wrestling live, to be back in that place (would be great)…”

While many fans would have imagined Christian Cage to be his final opponent, as Copeland alluded to that may not be the case now that AEW have jumped right into the feud early on in his run.

Copeland won the TNT Championship from Christian at Worlds End on December 30, only for his former tag team partner to use Killswitch’s guaranteed title opportunity in order to get an immediate rematch; which he of course won, seemingly continuing the feud into 2024.
