With another set of NXT and AEW Dynamite episodes in the books, the viewership for both shows has now been revealed. As was the case last week, world news continues to dominate the airwaves. As a result, the numbers for both shows are still low.
As reported by ShowBuzz Daily, AEW Dynamite garnered an average of 762,000 viewers. Meanwhile, NXT garnered a mere 551,000 average viewers. NXT was once again outside the top 50 programs on the night. Dynamite also managed to garner a 0.41 in the male 18-49 key demographic.
AEW presented their second week of New Year’s Smash last night with the Good Brothers making their in-ring debut for AEW. The duo teamed up with Kenny Omega defeat the trio of Griff Garrison, Brian Pillman Jr., and Danny Limelight. Darby Allin also defended the TNT Championship against Brian Cage.
Meanwhile, on NXT, there were three first-round matches in the Dusty Rhodes Classic. The Grizzled Young Veterans, Undisputed Era, and the debuting MSK all advanced to the second round. MSK was revealed to be the new name of The Rascalz, a popular team from Impact Wrestling.
