AEW’s Jeff Jarrett Opens Up About Return To Universal Studios AEW

After an absence of around half a decade, Jeff Jarrett has returned to Universal Studios for an AEW Dark taping.

The show was taped on December 17 and will see Jarrett team with Satnam Singh to take on Dean Alexander & Rosario Grillo.

Universal Studios is close to Jarrett’s heart as it was the home of TNA/Impact Wrestling from 2004 to March 2013.

Speaking on his My World podcast (subscription required), Jarrett reflected on the return to the home of The IMPACT Zone, saying:

“I had a little time to reflect, it was really cool on Saturday morning.

“Flew down to Orlando, how many times have I done that?

“Getting in the car, going to Universal Studios, and how many times I’ve done that in my life.”

He received a warm welcome when he arrived at Universal Studios for the taping, too, explaining:

“To get the opportunity and see some of the faces.

“I pulled up to the guard shack, still in the car, and getting my bag out.

“A gentleman walked over to the car, and I couldn’t see him.

“The first words he said, ‘Hey, where is Karen?’

“I recognized the voice.

“There were so many faces that I got to see that I hadn’t seen in five years.

“The last time I was there was 2017.

“Folks I’ve been working with since 2005.”

Looking back on his legacy and his time at Universal Studios for AEW, Jarrett reflected on the “cool experience”:

“Something that, at this stage in my career, I do not take for granted, and I think we’ve all taken for granted certain things in our lives and you don’t even think about when you’re doing it, but the relationships, we were down there every other week for years.

“The relationships we’ve built.

“They ask about Karen, the kids, and they remember them by name.

“These are all, not AEW employees, but Universal Studios and freelancers.

“It was a cool deal.”

Jeff Jarrett joined AEW in November 2022.

He had served as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Live Events from May to August of 2022.

The decision, he has previously stated, to join Tony Khan’s company “didn’t happen overnight.”

Aside from his onscreen role, he is also the Director of Business Development.
