AEW Star Wants Mercedes Mone To Join The Company

AEW Star Wants Mercedes Mone To Join The Company AEW

Former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale wants the currently injured Mercedes Mone to join AEW in the future.

Nightingale became the first-ever NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion at NJPW STRONG Resurgence in a match that had to be changed when Mone suffered an ankle injury.

She has since lost the championship to Giulia at the NJPW Independence Day show.

It has previously been reported that there isn’t a timeline for Mone’s return though there are plans for her to face Giulia.

Speaking about Mone in an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Nightingale expressed her hope to see the former WWE star in AEW, saying:

“If that is what she would want to do and she would want to be part of our team, I would love it.

“I think she’s undoubtedly an amazing performer. One of the pivotal people in creating women’s wrestling to be in the space that it is today.

“There is no denying just how prolific she is and the star power she brings. She would be a great fit for our team.

“The world is her oyster. She’s really proved that going out on her own and finding so much success in New Japan.

“I do wish her well, I hope she’s healing up good. Whatever she wants to do, she’s got it.”

Fellow AEW star Britt Baker has also spoken about Mercedes Mone, stating that she would like to face the NJPW star at Forbidden Door III.

Whilst Mone may be signed to NJPW, Bayley has recently tweeted her hope that she could face the former Sasha Banks again.
