Mercedes Mone has been out of action with an injury since May 21, when she suffered an ankle injury during her match with Willow Nightingale at NJPW Resurgence.
The match was the final of a tournament to crown the new NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, with Mercedes originally slated to win the title before her injury changed plans.
Since then, Willow dropped the title to Giulia at the NJPW Independence Day show.
In an update on Mercedes per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, even people who would need to know do not know the exact timeframe for her return.
Meltzer noted that the plan right now is for her to face Giulia for the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship, but right now there are no specific plans or dates in place due to there being no word on her return from injury.
