AEW Star Hints At In-Ring Retirement

AEW Star Hints At In-Ring Retirement AEW

Former AEW Tag Team Champion Christopher Daniels has teased his wrestling retirement, discussing his current in-ring challenges.

With three decades of experience inside the ropes, Daniels has proven himself in the ring all over the globe.

The AEW Head of Talent Relations has now hinted that his in-ring retirement is currently on his mind.

In an interview with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Daniels noted that he’s currently wrestling like every match could be his last.

Opening up about his upcoming AAA Lucha Libre World Cup appearance, Daniels said:

“It could be my last match on Sunday. It could be my last one, and I understand that. Part of the challenge now is to wrestle like it could be my last match.

“My spirit is willing; sometimes, my flesh is weak, and that’s the real situation. As long as my spirit is strong, I’m going to keep doing this as long as I can.

“I don’t think this is the last time that I’ll get an opportunity to work for AAA.

“I have a good relationship with the company itself, and I look forward to Sunday, and (we’ll) see what happens. Then, after we win, anything is possible.”

On the March 19 show, Daniels will team with Sam Adonis and Johnny Caballero (fka John Morrison) to face off against La Estrella, Takuma Nishikawa, and Kuukai in the first round of the tournament.

Daniels just wrestled at the AEW House Rules live event on March 18, unsuccessfully challenging for Powerhouse Hobbs’ TNT Title.
