Last weekend at Starrcade, WWE commentary started referring to Rusev as ‘Bad Boy Rusev’. Lana then called her real-life husband by the same nickname in a backstage promo.
For those of you who aren’t aware, AEW star Joey Janela is also referred to as ‘The Bad Boy’. It was speculated online that Janela might have to choose a different moniker if WWE decided to trademark it.
However, it appears like it will be Rusev who has to choose a new nickname based on one of Janela’s latest tweets.
Responding to a report saying he trademarked the nickname ‘Bad Boy’, Janela apologised to Rusev.
You gotta do what, you gotta do 🤷🏻♂️ Sorry @RusevBUL https://t.co/HZ61uEa4Hv

This all comes after it was reported that WWE was considering taking legal action against AEW over the use of the Bash at the Beach pay-per-view name.
We will have to see on Monday Night Raw how WWE refers to Rusev, perhaps they will have thought of a new nickname for the former United States Champion.
