An AEW star has commented on the AEW All Out backstage altercation.
At AEW Out 2022, CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley to regain the AEW World Championship. However, Punk went on a verbal tirade directed on the AEW EVPs Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks that led to a backstage brawl involving all four men and Ace Steel.
Following the altercation, Punk and The Elite were suspended and stripped of their championship gold. Despite Omega and The Young Bucks making their return in November, Punk has remained off of television and is currently recovering from an injury suffered in the bout at All Out.
Appearing on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, AEW star Jake Hager was asked about the incident between Punk and The Elite. Hager said:
“I’m sure I can, but I don’t really want to. Who knows how animosity builds and how lack of communication leads to certain things.”
“I think it all stems from how you view things. Obviously, one person in that party was viewing things so negatively and I don’t think he was correct.”
Hager did note that he wasn’t present for the incident because he had already left the building by that point.
