Several AEW stars have taken to social media to react to the promotion’s ratings win over WWE SmackDown this past Friday.
AEW Rampage beat WWE SmackDown in the key 18-49 demo for the shows’ half-hour crossover. The shows in their entirety were level in the demo, but AEW’s 10-11pm timeslot made it more impressive than SmackDown’s 8-10:30pm.
SmackDown’s half-hour featured Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks and the Brock Lesnar/Roman Reigns contract signing, while AEW’s featured CM Punk vs Matt Sydal, and Ruby Soho vs The Bunny.
The Punk vs Sydal match beat Lynch vs Banks with a 0.28 in 18-49 to 0.21, while the Soho vs Bunny match tied the Lesnar/Reigns segment at 0.23. The Soho vs Bunny match actually beat Lesnar/Reigns in male viewers.
Tony Khan had been talking up AEW’s chances of a win in the buildup, while Roman Reigns had been playing AEW down.

If you were sleeping on The Bunny, that’s your own fault. As for Ruby NoNo… still to the back of the line you go. 😂 @AEW pic.twitter.com/rSOPpQmR0k
