Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio has claimed that the prospect of him joining All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is “possible”.
Sexual assault and kidnapping charges against Del Rio from his arrest in May 2020 were dropped earlier this month and the case was closed with no further action.
Speaking in a new interview with Sportskeeda about the possibility of joining AEW, as well as other promotions, Alberto Del Rio said:
“Yes, that’s possible. I’ve been talking to a lot of people and just like I said earlier, I know everybody, they’re all talking about it and they saw what happened and they know it wasn’t fair for me, my career and my life so they are all going to be giving me an opportunity so it’s just a matter of time for me and them to put something together and decide where we’re going to go.”
Del Rio has made similar claims about WWE in the past which were refuted by WWE sources who stated there was no interest in him.
