Alexa Bliss injury update: injury is legitimate

It was previously reported that Alexa Bliss had been injured at WWE Hell in a Cell, and was subsequently pulled from Mixed Match Challenge and all live events. Cynics, such as myself, claimed that this was most likely a work to put over Ronda Rousey, however it is now being reported that the injury is legitimate.

Bliss was reported to complain about numbness in her left arm – the arm on which Ronda applies her arm bar – and as such was pulled from active competition and replaced in the Mixed Match Challenge by Ember Moon, with whom she had just started an angle with on this week’s episode of Raw.

However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is now reporting the injury is legitimate, and Bliss was genuinely experiencing numbness in her arm. She has been cleared for “minimal exertion”, so the likelihood is she will be appearing on programming in a non-wrestling capacity, most likely accompanying Alicia Fox and Mickie James for their matches.

The injury reportedly did not occur at Hell in a Cell though, that part is pure storyline. Still, it’s a worrying sign as numbness in limbs is often linked back to nerve problems, especially in the back and neck. Fingers crossed Alexa makes a speedy recovery.

Bliss is due to face Trish Stratus at WWE Evolution on October 28. It’s not yet clear whether she will be able to compete at the event.

If Alexa can’t make it back in time for Evolution, who should Trish face instead? Let us know in the comments, on Twitter or on Discord today!
