It was announced last week during night one of Fyter Fest that Brian Cage vs. Jon Moxley for the AEW World title would not be taking place on night two of the show. This is because Moxley’s wife, Renee Young, has tested positive for COVID-19.
It was confirmed during the show that Moxley vs. Cage will actually take place on the 07/15 show, which will now be a Fight for the Fallen special episode of Dynamite. No other matches have been announced for that show.
In its place, AEW announced that Private Party, who defeated Santana and Ortiz on night one of the event, will face Kenny Omega and Adam Page for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
While the match will likely be very good, fans were expected AEW to announce that Cody would be defending his TNT Championship in an open challenge on the show instead.
Well it seems like we are going to be getting that match, as Dave Meltzer stated on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Cody will be defending his TNT Championship on the show tomorrow.
There is no word on who his opponent is going to be, and if it is going to be a debuting star or someone on the AEW roster.
AEW has not yet announced a Cody title defence, so it is possible that Dave misspoke. For the latest on that, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
The result for every single match, with the exception of the report Cody title match, may have been spoiled last week. You can read more about that story by clicking here.
