Athena is revealing the real feelings amongst the AEW Women’s locker room as continue rumors of drama throughout the company persist.
Athena may be a relatively recent addition to the AEW roster however that hasn’t stopped her rise to the top of the Women’s division.
Ahead of her big opportunity at AEW Dynamite’s special Grand Slam edition at the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship, Athena opened up about having made the leap over to become All Elite.
Making an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Athena said:
“I’m still acclimating. I don’t wanna say that I’m fully formed and jumped into the mix. I still think I’m still trying to find my place.
“I’ll say this, the locker room is great. It’s awesome, it’s very uplifting.
“I think all the women in our locker room just want to see everyone succeed because I think as a locker room [we] want to keep pushing that boundary of what women’s wrestling can do, which is where I’m just like gung-ho, ‘Let’s go to war, let’s do it.'”
Speaking of backstage atmosphere, some exclusive AEW Women’s division tea to share!
One of the exceptionally talented hair and makeup artists who work backstage at AEW was just live on IG with the lovely Jade Cargill in her chair.
While those two were focused on Jade’s glam, there was some light background chatter including at one point, a voice that sounded very much like Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. discussing a spot and said, “… because I was going to f**k you over at that one part.” Ooh! Let’s go!
Current AEW Interim Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm attempts to fend off three challengers on tonight’s Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite including Athena, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Serena Deeb.
