WWE is planning a massive night for the upcoming SmackDown 1000 on October 23, with a host of former stars returning for the celebration.
One man seemingly not returning is former multiple-time WWE Champion and SmackDown stalwart Batista.
Despite the event taking place in his hometown, the Hollywood star has apparently not received an invite. A fact he took to Twitter to publicly complain about:
Surprise surprise!! I wasn’t invited! And it’s in my hometown.! 😳.. guess by now I shouldn’t be shocked anymore. https://t.co/r1NwUNlRnf

Batista has not been seen on WWE television since mid-2014, when he quit the promotion following a six-month return that saw him win the Royal Rumble, headline WrestleMania XXX and team with Evolution cohorts Triple H and Randy Orton in losing efforts against The Shield.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star was at one point in discussions with WWE to return at WrestleMania this year to team with Ronda Rousey against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, until WWE went quiet on the deal and stopped talking to him.
It seems Batista is in WWE‘s bad books following a series of public comments lashing out at the company. Until the bad blood subsides, it could be several years before the two parties are willing to work together again.
