As part of WWE’s European tour, Friday Night Smackdown will be taped and broadcast from the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Following his victory over Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel, WWE has confirmed that Tyson Fury will be appearing on the show in some capacity.
However, it appears as if Fury won’t be the only boxer who is backstage at Friday Night Smackdown tomorrow night.
According to The Sun, Josh Warrington will be a special guest at tomorrow night’s show. Like Fury, Warrington is an undefeated boxer and is the reigning IBF Featherweight World Champion.
Speaking about his plans to visit WWE tomorrow night, Warrington had the following to say:
“I’m very much looking forward to being at the wrestling this Friday in Manchester. I remember growing up watching WWE and I’ll be coming along with my nephew, who is two generations down the line and a huge fan now.”
It is not believed that WWE will be using the Warrington appearance to build to another boxer vs. wrestler match like we had at Crown Jewel.
However, Warrington currently has a gap in his schedule and does not have another fight booked. Therefore, WWE could be planning to have the 30-year-old wrestle at some stage.
Despite this, Warrington will likely just have been invited to be a guest backstage. However, I really wouldn’t be too surprised to see WWE show Warrington and Fury backstage together at some point during the show.
