John Morrison and The Miz have won the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships at WWE Super Showdown. It is their first reign as tag champions in nearly 11 years.
In what was a back-and-forth match, they were finally able to get the win when Morrison hit Kofi Kingston with a chair. This allowed The Miz to get the pin and win the titles. Morrison and The Miz reunited early in January this year.
This is the first time they have been the tag team champions since 2009. The team had been the World Tag Team Champions before losing the titles to Carlito and Primo at WrestleMania XXV. They broke up as a team little more than a week later at the 2009 WWE Draft.
This is not the only news to come out of Super Showdown as The Undertaker made his return earlier in the show.
