Bron Breakker Comments On Smashing Old NXT Logo During Entrance

Bron Breakker has commented on the reaction around his entrance on this week’s NXT 2.0. and it’s seemingly symbolic smash.

Speaking to CBS Sports about the entrance, which saw him crash through previous version of the brand’s X logo on his way to meet Tommaso Ciampa in the ring, he said:

“I don’t think it’s a nail in the coffin or anything like that. We’re just shifting from black and gold to 2.0. Tommaso [Ciampa] is going to be around. I’m sure that he and I will cross paths again. That will happen at some point in time whether it’s now or later. It’s going to happen again. I’m looking forward to it. It’s just a shift. Those guys are going to be here. I’m fully aware that they’re here. It ain’t going anywhere.”

Breakker would go on to win the NXT Championship on the New Year’s Evil edition of NXT 2.0 via Tommaso Ciampa tapping out after Breakker applied his Recliner finisher.

Breakker described the win as “surreal” as it was the first time his father, Rick Steiner had seen him wrestle, saying:

“It was a surreal moment. I’ll remember that for the rest of my life. It was just unbelievable. It still hasn’t set in yet. That was really cool. My dad, it was the first time he’s ever seen me work and he sat front row. It was cool. It was a moment. That’s a moment I’ll cherish forever.”

The NXT brand has been undergoing a major overhaul since shifting to the NXT 2.0 concept in late 2021, recently seeing the release of William Regal and other Performance Center staff which were noted as having been foundational in the establishment of the original iteration of the brand.
