Carmella Reveals Original Pitch For A Bodyguard, Not A Sommelier

WWE SmackDown star Carmella has spoken about the origins of her pairing with Reginald, and what she actually wanted to begin with.

Reginald played the part of Carmella’s sommelier, but she’s actually now said that her original pitch was to have a bodyguard instead.

Speaking on Out Of Character, Carmella said:

“It’s just so funny because I wanted to have a bodyguard because I was thinking like Victoria Gotti vibes and to have a bodyguard with me. And they said, ‘We’ll get there, we’ll get there’, and then one day I show up, and I have a sommelier. And I’m like, ‘What’s happening?’ I didn’t ask for a sommelier, but let’s do it. And that was obviously Reginald, and we thought it was a one-time thing. But he ended up sticking around for a little bit and now he’s on Raw.”

As she mentioned, Reginald is now on Raw as part of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler’s act, which has now become embroiled with Alexa Bliss.

Vince McMahon is reportedly a big fan of Reginald and his presentation, delivery, and in-ring skills.

Carmella’s last match was a loss to Liv Morgan on the June 11 SmackDown, a week after she’d just beaten Morgan, and she’s recently debuted her new slogan which is that she’s “the most beautiful woman in all of WWE”.
