Carmelo Hayes Reacts To Trick Williams’ Backstage Attack On NXT WWE

Following Trick Williams’ backstage attack on this week’s NXT (October 17), Carmelo Hayes has posted his initial reaction on social media.

As a backstage interview was taking place with Meta-Four’s Oro Mensah and Lash Legend, attention was diverted towards an attack on former NXT North American Champion Trick Williams just metres away.

Unfortunately the identity of the attacker was not found out as only the immediate aftermath was captured, with WWE officials and Williams’ partner Carmelo Hayes rushing to his side.

An irate Hayes questioned officials at what had occurred as Williams winced in pain, clearly setting up a whodunnit mystery leading into next week.

Posting to Twitter following the incident, Hayes called for answers for his friend saying:

JUSTICE FOR TRICK WILLY

While Williams has made an enemy of the likes of Dominik Mysterio and the Judgment Day, Twitter users in the comments began to lay blame on Hayes, suspecting he was the one behind the attack.

One user jumped to the defence of the former NXT Champion, saying:

Everyone is pointing the finger at Melo. He wouldn’t do this

Hayes would respond with:

Bruh fr

But it wasn’t just fans who suspect Hayes, as fellow NXT star Dijak also suggested a potential betrayal had taken place, commenting:

Mhmm sure bro.

Aside from the attack to Williams, this week’s NXT was a good one for Hayes as he defeated Dijak and Baron Corbin to become the number one contender to Ilja Dragunov’s NXT Championship.
