Former Ring of Honor (ROH) owner Cary Silkin has revealed that he contacted CM Punk a couple of years ago about a potential wrestling return.
Speaking on his ‘Last Stop Penn Station’ podcast, Cary Silkin commented on Punk’s AEW debut. Silkin stated that in recent years, he had reached out to Punk about a return to ROH.
Explaining why the return never happened, Silkin said:
“A couple years ago I called (CM Punk) … we can talk about it a little. It was a possibility of him coming back to Ring of Honor and I put him in touch with the powers that be and the powers that be told me that this time it just wasn’t a mutually beneficial situation so, that’s it.”
Punk will wrestle for the first time in over 7 years at All Out on September 5. His scheduled opponent, Darby Allin, will be in action on Rampage next week, days out from the pay-per-view.
A new mask mandate has been announced for Illinois, ahead of All Out in the Now Arena. Anybody planning to attend the pay-per-view will be required to wear a face-covering.
