Top WWE Star Doesn’t Believe Someone That Can Retire Them ‘Doesn’t Exist Yet’ WWE

A top WWE star doesn’t believe someone that can retire her “doesn’t exist yet.”

On the December 30, 2022 edition of WWE SmackDown, Charlotte Flair made her return to the company and quickly defeated Ronda Rousey to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion again.

This marked Flair’s 14th world championship in WWE. Already being the subject of her own A&E Biography: WWE Legends episode and her already highly decorated career, fans could assume that retirement has been considered for “The Queen.”

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case when talking to Charlotte Flair.

Speaking with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri, Flair was asked about who she would like to retire against. Admitting she hadn’t given it much thought, Charlotte answered:

“It’s so hard because I don’t know what the landscape is going to look like,”

“There’s a difference from passing the torch and a retirement match. I don’t know, maybe — I don’t know if that person exists yet.”

Joking that her A&E Biography: WWE Legends episode might feel like she is being kicked out of the door, Flair said:

“I feel like we’re trying to push me out now. I’m not really sure. I feel like I haven’t even hit my prime yet or I’m just starting to get there,”

“I love saying in a promo that I’m a living legend, but I don’t feel like it. When I think of legend, I think of The Undertaker’s career. The status he’s at. It means retired and drinking pina coladas on the beach somewhere in Tulum.”

Charlotte Flair is set to defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 next weekend.

As previously reported, the original plans for both women’s title matches at WrestleMania have been revealed.
