AEW star Chris Jericho has revealed what he called Triple H backstage during his time in WWE.
Jericho spent much of his career in WWE feuding with Triple H, both on-and-off-screen. The two stars have faced each other countless times, including in the main event of WrestleMania 18.
Speaking with the True Geordie podcast, the former AEW World Champion talked about having a little bit of fun at Triple H’s expense by revealing a nickname that he bestowed to The Game.
Jericho said:
“I used to call Triple H ‘Prince Charles. Prince Charles [isn’t] king, right, until the Queen passes away. And she’s been there 30, 40 years. She ain’t going anywhere. Triple H is the Prince Charles of wrestling, in that he’s supposed to take it over, but it might be a long time. I think Vince [McMahon] is 78, so it could be another 20 years. And he’s not going anywhere. I don’t think Vince will ever give up the throne.”
Triple H has long been considered the successor to the creative throne that his father-in-law Vince McMahon sits in, currently serving as Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development.
Chris Jericho will compete in a Barbed Wire Everywhere Match against Eddie Kingston on this Wednesday, July 20 Fyter Fest Week Two edition of AEW Dynamite.
