Former WWE and AEW World Champion Chris Jericho has taken a shot at last night’s zombie Lumberjack match at WrestleMania Backlash.
On last night’s pay-per-view, Damian Priest defeated The Miz in a Lumberjack match where the lumberjacks at ringside were all zombies, which was used to promote the new Army of the Dead film.
The reaction to the match has been largely negative amongst not only fans and critics but also wrestlers, as Chris Jericho has taken to Twitter to poke fun at WWE for what went down, writing
Zombies…ZOMBIES? Wow that just set wrestling back 30 years.
For those that aren’t aware, Chris Jericho is referencing the reports that emerged following Blood and Guts this month, with it being claimed that people in WWE thought the big match “set the business back 30 years”.
The rest of last night’s WrestleMania Backlash show was received pretty positively, with the Universal Championship main event between Roman Reigns and Cesaro being a particular highlight amongst fans.
