Ciampa Teases Possibility Of Johnny Gargano Making WWE Return

Ahead of WWE SummerSlam, Ciampa reveals which former NXT star has a “better” chance of returning now that Triple H is in charge.

While Ciampa is currently already tethered to another star on the WWE main roster in the Miz ahead of Miz’s big match against Logan Paul at WWE SummerSlam but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about working with real life pal, Johnny Gargano.

Ciampa spoke in an exclusive interview with Wrestling Inc.’s Nick Hausman, saying:

“The door was always open. Johnny left so he could go be a dad … For Johnny, it was like, ‘Oh, I have baby Quill, and I have to [wrestle] full-time or I take a break,’ and he just took a break. So I don’t know, I think the chances of him returning were always really good … Maybe they’re better now, but regardless, I think he’s definitely going to come back to wrestling.

“He’s in shape, he still loves it. I’m sure he’s still probably one of the best in the world right now. So for him, it’s just a matter of time.”

While there still is no confirmation on the plan moving forward for Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, speculating fans have begun to assume that we’re headed for a Rollins vs. mystery opponent with many hoping Johnny Wrestling’s return is upon us.

We’ll have to tune into WWE SmackDown tonight to see if there is any update on the WWE SummerSlam card.
