After winning the AEW World Championship at All Out, CM Punk had some very strong words for the AEW EVPs (the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega), Adam Page, and Colt Cabana in the post-show media scrum.
This of course stems from the legitimate issues backstage between Punk’s camp and the Elite camp.
Stories emerged recently that people believed Punk was responsible for Cabana’s sudden disappearance from AEW TV, something Punk has repeatedly denied.
A story later emerged that Cabana would have been let go by the company if it wasn’t for the Young Bucks intervening, after which Tony Khan opted to keep Cabana for the Ring of Honor brand instead.
Punk addressed all of these rumors in very aggressive fashion and had some harsh words for the EVPs, Page and Cabana. Soon after, word came out that the EVPs may even have threatened to leave the company over the incident.
