Cody Gives Massive Hint Regarding New Promotion

Cody Gives Massive Hint Regarding New Promotion

It has been widely reported over the last couple of weeks that plans are seemingly in place for a new wrestling promotion, led by Cody and The Young Bucks, to be created.

It was reported that All Elite Wrestling LLC had filed for a number of trademarks on November 5, including:

  • AEW Double Or Nothing
  • AEW All Out
  • AEW
  • Tuesday Night Dynamite
  • ALL OUT
  • Double Or Nothing

This seemed to suggest that a new promotion was in the works, and that there already seem to be plans for weekly shows and PPV events.

Even more interestingly, the Florida-based All Elite Wrestling LLC’s registered address is TIAA Bank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jaguars co-owner Tony Khan, son of billionaire Shadid Khan, is one of the names that has being mentioned as involved with the group. It had previously been reported that Khan was working with Chris Jericho and Jim Ross on launching a new promotion, which was denied by all involved.

And Cody has now given a massive hint that all of the rumours may well be true. He was spotted over the weekend attending a Jacksonville Jaguars American Football match, seated in the owner’s box. The same owner whose son is supposedly the financial backing behind AEW.

While he may have just been there because he’s a bit famous, it does seem to be a bit of a coincidence, particularly with all the current speculation.

WrestleTalk can exclusively reveal via our industry sources that at least two WWE main roster stars have been informally approached about signing with the new group once their contracts expire. We understand that both have provisionally accepted the proposed deal and will depart WWE in April at the latest.

Furthermore, our sources note that although the trademarks have been registered, the confirmation of the deal relies on the proposed promotion getting a financially worthwhile television or streaming deal and should only be considered “50/50” at this stage.
