A new report has discussed Cody Rhodes’ AEW absence, revealing when fans can expect to see the Executive Vice President on TV again.
Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reports that Cody Rhodes is expected to return to AEW television within the month. The report also stated that there are “big plans” in store for Rhodes following his return.
Rhodes hasn’t appeared on AEW TV since he was defeated by Malakai Black on the August 4 episode of AEW Dynamite. After the match, Rhodes teased his retirement, leaving his boots in the ring.
A separate report has revealed that Tony Khan suggested for Black to defeat Rhodes so convincingly in his AEW debut match.
During the September 5 All Out pay-per-view, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Ruby Soho and NJPW’s Minoru Suzuki made surprise appearances for AEW. CM Punk also wrestled his first match in over seven years, pinning Darby Allin in just under 17 minutes.
Tony Khan has commented on these recent debuts, confirming that he and Punk were operating under a “handshake deal” for some time.
