Cody Rhodes Urges WWE Star To Win Intercontinental Title Gauntlet Match

Cody Rhodes has urged a WWE star to go and win the six-man Intercontinental Title number one contender gauntlet match.

On this week’s Raw (March 11) we find out who earns the chance to dethrone the record-breaking Intercontinental Championship reign of GUNTHER at WrestleMania 40.

With spaces on the ‘Mania card at a premium, the match represents what could be a last chance for many to make it to Philadelphia.

Now, tweeting ahead of the match, Cody Rhodes has seemingly solidified his pick – by sending a message to Chad Gable, telling him to go and win the match and earn another shot at The Ring General.

Tweeting in response to a motivational video Gable put out ahead of the match, Rhodes said:

Chad – Go and win the whole dang thing!

In the impressive self-produced video (see below) Gable puts over just how much winning the match means to him, with the multi-time former tag champion looking to “rewrite history” from his prior loss to GUNTHER back in September.

Gable has not only never won singles gold in WWE before, but he has yet to compete in anything other than tag matches and battle royals at the Showcase of the Immortals.

If Gable is going to pull it off he will have to get past the other five men in the field – three of which have previously held the Intercontinental Title: Bronson Reed, JD McDonagh, Sami Zayn, Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura.
