It’s fair to say that Daniel Cormier is a bit of a legend in the eyes of UFC fans and the owner of the promotion Dana White.
Cormier is White’s go to man when he’s needed a spot filled on a card, and has competed in multiple divisions throughout his illustrious career.
It has been rumoured for some time that Daniel Cormier is interested in a fight against former UFC Champion and current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, and it looks like the match really is going to happen.
Speaking to ESPN in a post-UFC 235 interview, White confirmed that Cormier wants the fight, and that he is doing what he can to make it happen.
“I think Brock and Cormier want that fight. I owe Cormier a lot. Cormier wants that fight, so Cormier’s going to get it.”
He did admit that he didn’t know exactly when he’d be able to put the fight on given his WWE “commitments”.
“[Lesnar’s] one of those guys that when he’s ready, he’ll call. I don’t chase anybody around. When people are ready to fight, they let me know.”
Following his UFC 226 victory, Cormier called Brock Lesnar out, seemingly starting a feud between the two men, with Lesnar even going so far as pushing the UFC Champion, but since then very little has been said on the topic.
