WWE Hall Of Famer Believes Chris Jericho Is The New Ric Flair

WWE Hall Of Famer Believes Chris Jericho Is The New Ric Flair AEW

A WWE Hall of Famer believes Chris Jericho is the new Ric Flair.

When looking back on 2022, many different names come to mind as the Wrestler of the Year. From Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn to Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay, there is no shortage of qualified competitors for the award.

During an interview for WrestleBinge By Sportskeeda, Diamond Dallas Page mentioned Reigns and Zayn as worthy candidates, but ultimately chose Chris Jericho for the award.

Heaping extremely high praise by comparing Jericho to another all-time great, DDP said:

“It’s so close cause I could’ve easily given this to Roman Reigns, very easily. I think they’re both amazing and had unbelievable years, but Jericho I got to give the nod to because he’s my boy, but at the same time, I watch how over he is and the length of time he has been.”

“To me, he’s like the new Ric Flair because people have watched him for 25-30 years. When he wasn’t on top, he was on his way to the top, and he’s been on top for over 20 years.”

“I know it’s a one-year deal but I just have to give him the nod, very close; you could easily have given it to Roman Reigns.”

Chris Jericho is currently trying his hand at the trios division in All Elite Wrestling, teaming with Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

The J.A.S. came up short against House of Black in a three-way match also featuring The Elite for the AEW World Trios Championships on the March 15 edition of AEW Dynamite.

However, Jericho’s group got a measure of revenge by helping Garcia get a win over House of Black’s Brody King on the March 17 episode of AEW Rampage.
