An update has emerged on the upcoming all-women’s wrestling promotion set to launch later this year, with the date for the promotion’s first event revealed.
As previously reported, a new all-women’s wrestling company with an ‘authentic Joshi Japanese wrestling feel’ is preparing for its launch.
While it was previously reported that the promotion’s debut show will take place in September, we now know the exact date that this new company will be launched.
Per PWInsider, the promotion’s premiere event will take place on Thursday, September 21 in Manhattan, New York.
This is notably one day after AEW’s Grand Slam taping at New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 20.
PWInsider also reported that this new promotion will make a number of announcements relating to the debut next week.
Notable names previously confirmed for the new promotion include Risa Sera, Arisa Nakajima and Tomoka Inaba.
WWE Women’s Champion Bull Nakano is also reportedly set to be a ‘signature star’ for the promotion.
Per PWInsider, the ‘brain trust’ behind the promotion is focusing on building content.
This reportedly includes a big focus on developing anime content related to the wrestling.
