We now know some more details regarding popular NXT announcer Mauro Ranallo parting ways with WWE which was reported earlier.
As per Dave Meltzer, the two parties did not part ways on negative terms this time around.
Ranallo has missed the last three NXT shows including TakeOver XXX and the September 1 episode on the USA Network due to going back to British Columbia in Canada where is mother is hospitalised.
Ranallo had already been looking to work a less stressful schedule with WWE, to which the company did oblige to an extent by having him do commentary remotely from his home in Santa Monica, California rather than traveling to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
The last few NXT shows have been called by Vic Joseph, Beth Phoenix and Wade Barrett, the latter of whom is reportedly in the process of negotiating a full-time contract.
Ranallo had the following to say regarding his departure:
“I appreciate the opportunity I had to realize my childhood dream of working in sports entertainment, and I wish WWE well in the future. Now I want to direct my focus and devote my time to my other projects and to my mental health charitable activities and the well-being of my mother and myself.”
WWE has issued the following statement on its website:
WWE and Mauro Ranallo have mutually and amicably agreed to part ways.
Mauro’s passion and enthusiasm left an indelible and exciting mark with WWE and its fans, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.
