Though SAnitY and The Bludgeon Brothers each had pre-taped, backstage segments, the tag division was only used in the ring once this week – and in a singles match no less – as The Bar’s Cesaro took on The New Day’s Xavier Woods. This was built up via a segment in which Cesaro insinuated he could do what Sheamus couldn’t: defeat Woods despite a numbers disadvantage. Sure enough, the “Thwith Thyborg” was correct, as he downed Woods with an uppercut as the latter attempted an elbow drop. They didn’t have a ‘classic’ or get much time but this was a fun bout for the division. Later, it was announced the two teams would square off next week, with the winner earning a representative for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
