Dominik & Rey Mysterio Reveal They Tested Positive For COVID-19 In December

If you were wondering why the Mysterio family was noticeably missing from WWE TV in December, we now know their absence was down to Rey and Dominik Mysterio testing positive for COVID-19.

While appearing on the Start Today Podcast, Dominik and Rey Mysterio spoke about testing positive for COVID-19 towards the end of last year:

“It was actually on my birthday. December 11. My parents ended up catching COVID and we were taking care of them and making sure they didn’t catch it. They caught it, brought it to my house, passed it on to my housekeeper, my housekeeper passed it on to my wife. I was with my wife for three days, flew to Tampa for SmackDown, and I found out that Friday before walking into the arena that my housekeeper tested positive. I didn’t want to bring it to the guys. We both tested negative. My daughter tested negative too. We flew back home Saturday. Saturday night, I felt really sick and woke up Sunday with a massive headache. I felt achey and I knew right away, My wife felt the same way. Sunday and Monday, we were locked in our rooms. Tuesday, we get tested. My wife and I test positive. Dominik and Aalyah test negative. Lock up again and quarantine for 11 days. Dominik felt sick on Tuesday night and woke up Wednesday sick.”

Dominik then revealed that he tested positive the following day, but stated that his sister Aalyah tested negative. Both Dominik and Rey said they had body aches and headaches, with Dominik adding that he also had the chills.

Rey Mysterio wrestled on the December 4 episode of SmackDown, but did not wrestle on the blue brand against until the January 8 show the following month.

Thankfully, both men have now recovered fully and are doing well. Both Rey and Dominik appeared in the men’s Royal Rumble match last week.
