Drew McIntyre Addresses ‘Frustrating’ WWE SmackDown Botch WWE

Drew McIntyre has addressed the ‘frustrating’ botch during his segment with Karrion Kross on the September 23 edition of WWE SmackDown.

During the segment, Kross and McIntyre brawled, following McIntyre challenging the returning star to a strap match. At one point in the scuffle, Scarlett attempted to shoot a ‘fireball’ at McIntyre’s face, however the fireball barely connected, leading to the trio improvising a new finish for the segment.

In an interview with My San Antonio, McIntyre noted that he is experienced enough to know that things don’t always go to plan on live TV.

Commenting on the segment, McIntyre said:

“It is frustrating when it is something that should be ready to go on a live television show. But at the same time, it is a live television show, and it is not my first day. So, I know things don’t always go like they are supposed to go.

“Hence, why I didn’t fall down and hold my face because I don’t trust anything after 20 years in wrestling. I just reacted until I knew everything is OK, and then someone got the cue, and it was not OK. So, I called what I had to call, and we got the save at the end and got the bad guy reaction and putting some heat on the new characters on the show.”

McIntyre and Kross will face off in a strap match at Extreme Rules this Saturday (October 8). Several other stipulation matches have been announced for the show, including I Quit, Ladder and Extreme Rules bouts.
