WWE confirmed this week that they had hired both Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff to new positions within the company. Heyman and Bischoff are now the Executive Directors of Raw and Smackdown respectively.
It has since been reported that select few people within WWE knew about the hirings in advance.
This was coupled with a report suggesting that FOX was not even aware that Eric Bischoff would be running Smackdown when it arrives on the network in October 2019.
Bischoff took to Twitter yesterday to comment on his new role for the first time since the news broke. He explained how he was “equally humbled, honored and more excited” than he could possibly articulate.
Equally humbled, honored, and more excited than I can possibly articulate here. Thank you so much for the overwhelming support. It’s been an amazing journey and the best is yet to come. @WWE #SDLive

Bischoff would go on to thank the company and fans for “the overwhelming support”.
While nothing has been confirmed by WWE, Eric Bischoff has been advertised locally for an appearance on Smackdown this week.
