AEW President Tony Khan made his ‘huge announcement’ on this week’s (October 6) episode of AEW Dynamite, when Aubrey Edwards and Tony Schiavone unveiled the new TBS Championship.
AEW Dynamite is set to move to TBS on January 5, 2022, and it seems that will be the date that the inaugural champion will be crowned.
Aubrey Edwards took to her Instagram account earlier today, saying:
Got to unveil a cool new belt with my podcast co-host tonight on #AEWDynamite The first ever TBS Champion will be crowned when Dynamite moves to TBS on January 5th!
AEW confirmed that a tournament would be taking place to crown the champion, but did not say when it would begin or who the participants would be.

Thunder Rosa, Skye Blue, Ruby Soho and Jade Cargill all made claims on Dynamite to being the inaugural champion, so one would expect them to be in the tournament.
