A report made earlier today by Dave Meltzer stated that Shayna Baszler will be moving up to Raw from NXT in the next few weeks to begin a WrestleMania feud with Becky Lynch.
The former NXT Women’s Champion was the favourite to win the Royal Rumble last month, with many fans speculating that Baszler vs. Lynch was the plan for WrestleMania all the way back at Survivor Series.
However, it was Charlotte Flair who won the match. Flair will seemingly challenge either Rhea Ripley or Bianca Belair for the NXT Women’s Championship on the “grandest stage of them all”.
Speaking of Shayna Baszler, PWInsider‘s Mike Johnson is reporting that the NXT star will be on the 02/10 episode of Raw next week to begin her feud with “The Man”.
“Shayna Baszler is slated to be at this Monday’s Raw taping in Ontario, CA, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
“The current plan is for Baszler to challenge Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 36, so this Monday appears to be when they will pull the trigger on starting that storyline.
“Baszler, 39, debuted for WWE in 2017 and has been a cornerstone talent for the WWE NXT brand, including two WWE NXT Women’s Championship runs. The plan is for Baszler to shift to the Raw roster with this storyline.”
On this week’s episode of Raw, Asuka challenged Becky Lynch to a Raw Women’s Championship match. The bout is set to take place on next week’s show.
With Shayna set to be at Raw this week, many have speculated that she could attack Becky Lynch after the match to set up their WrestleMania Women’s Championship feud.
