Former WWE Champion Comments On Locker Room Morale Following Vince McMahon Return WWE

A former WWE Champion has commented on the locker room morale following Vince McMahon’s return.

This past week has been one of the craziest times in WWE with former CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon returning to the Board of Directors.

The company has also hired JPMorgan to advise a potential sale, while McMahon was then subsequently voted the Executive Chairman of the Board.

Stephanie McMahon then resigned as chairwoman and co-CEO, while the sale rumors heated up on January 10.

Speaking with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri on SHAK Wrestling, former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston was asked to comment on how Vince McMahon’s return and the rumors of the sale affected the locker room morale. He answered:

“I think we kind of all have the same mentality, like whatever happens outside of the company is going to happen.”

“We really have no idea what’s transpiring, but our role remains the same, it’s just go out there and put on great matches.”

“That is the one thing, regardless of whoever’s in charge or whoever owns this or that, you know what I mean, that’s what we’re gonna do.”

“That’s what we’re always gonna do. So that is the most important thing, I think, the mentality for us is just to kind of, like you said, laser vision and keep putting on great matches. So that’s what we’re gonna do.”

Kofi Kingston is currently one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions with The New Day’s Xavier Woods and has announced his entry into this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match.
