Former WWE Star Says Treatment Of Royal Rumble Alternative Was ‘Kind Of Sh**ty’

Former WWE Star Says Treatment Of Royal Rumble Alternative Was ‘Kind Of Sh**ty’ WWE

This year’s women’s Royal Rumble match featured several surprise appearances in addition to the main WWE roster.

From former stars like Michelle McCool and Nia Jax to NXT names like Roxanne Perez, Indi Hartwell and Zoey Stark, there are always names brought in for the show that go unused.

One unused alternative for this year’s Royal Rumble was NXT’s Ivy Nile, but last year there were other alternatives for the match who went unused.

One such name was former WWE star Aksana, who was backstage at last year’s event but did not appear in the match.

During a virtual signing with Golden Ring Collectables, former WWE star Summer Rae, who did appear in last year’s match, spoke about her Rumble appearances.

She said that, while having NXT names backstage is a great experience for them, flying in former stars like Aksana to serve as unused alternatives is ‘kind of sh**ty’.

She said:

“When you fly like Aksana, she hasn’t been on TV for like 10 years, and then you don’t use her, I feel like that’s kind of sh**ty,”

Aksana wasn’t the only unused alternative for last year’s Women’s Royal Rumble, as Jillian Hall also did not appear in the match.

Summer Rae’s appearance in last year’s match was announced prior to the show along with many other former WWE stars, but she confirmed that she was not present backstage for this year’s event.
