We may have learned the identity of someone who’ll be challenging Big E for the WWE Championship some time in the not-too-distant future.
There was a WWE house show in Bakersfield, California last night, and Big E was one of the big names on the card.
While house shows are often viewed as throwaway shows, they do sometimes serve as way for WWE to test things out, including opponent combinations for future TV matches and feuds.
With that said, E defended the title last night against Seth Rollins, who’ll be moving to Raw as of October 22 following the recent WWE Draft.
So if you put two and two together, WWE could be testing the waters for a Big E vs Rollins feud for the title somewhere down the line.
Obviously that isn’t necessarily the case, but it would make certainly make quite a bit of sense all things considered.
E defends the title against Drew McIntyre at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on October 21, and the next pay-per-view after that is Survivor Series where E will most likely be facing SmackDown’s Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
